In May 2014, Branch members voted to change the governing structure of the Branch to focus on activities instead of monthly meetings. The newly formed governing committee shall be composed of the elected officers and at least one branch member who is not an officer. The governing committee shall have the power to administer affairs of the branch and to carry out its programs and its policies, and shall accept responsibilities delegated by AAUW and the state. It shall act for the branch between membership meetings. The governing committee shall have fiscal responsibility for the Branch as outlined by the AAUW Bylaws. The committee will also be able to create special committees and task forces as deemed necessary.
